50 years ago today, on April 13, 1964, Catherine was in the midst of her first visit to the United States to promote The Empty Canvas for Embassy Pictures and (I think) attended the 36th Annual Academy Awards at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in Santa Monica, California. Jack Lemmon was the host.
The April 13 issue of Variety reported that "Catherine Spaak winged in to view her first Oscar."
Whenever I see a video clip from those awards, I scan the crowd (inside and outside of the auditorium) looking for Catherine, but I have yet to spot her and have never seen any photos of her at the event.
